Department 19 – Arts, Photography, Crafts

  1. Paintings must have been done by exhibitor. “Original” means not copied.
  2. No entries by professionals. (A professional charges clients for their services.)
  3. Entries limited to residents of Pennsylvania.
  4. All paintings and drawings must be prepared to hang.
  5. Horizontal 8×10 photographs and 5x7s do not have to be framed.
  6. All other photographs must be matted and/or framed and prepared to be hung – maximum size framed shall not exceed 11″x14″.
  7. Minimum size for photographs is 5 x 7 inches.
  8. Names on entries must be covered until judged.
  9. Special needs people are welcome.

Scarecrow Contest (Premiums: $12, $10, $8)

Scarecrow Contest Rules

  1. Scarecrows to be displayed in main exhibit building.
  2. All entries must be clothed and ready to exhibit. Exhibitors must supply their own means of anchoring the scarecrow, such as stakes, rods, pins, etc.
  3. Remember the scarecrows will be displayed indoors. Choose appropriate construction materials.
  4. All scarecrows must be 5’-7’ tall as measured in place from the ground to the highest point of the entry.
  5. Scarecrows will be judged on:
    Originality – 50 pts
    Workmanship – 30 pts
    General Appearance – 20 pts
  6. All entries must be made in the current fair year.
  7. This contest is open to any club, group, organization, or individual.
